8 Nights of Hanukkah Cocktails

Published On 8 December, 2012 | Kosher, Recipe Roundups

Eight nights of Chanukkah, and eight nights of Hanukkah Cocktails, and if your schedule looks anything like ours, there’s plenty of activities for kids and adults alike for the next eight nights. In the spirit of celebration, no pun intended, I share with you eight unique cocktails for you to share with your friends and family, or to treat yourself too if you are home alone. Each of these cocktails are presented by a different foodie, some are names you may recognize from previous posts or round ups, and some of them are brand new. Each night of Hanukkah, a new cocktail will be revealed, so come back each day at 5:00PM Central Time, or make sure we’re connected on Facebook so you can get a nightly reminder.

One Hanukkah Cocktail:
Strawberry Pineapple Daquiri

Noshing with the Nolands DaquariYou might think “summer” when I say Daquiri, and if you were lucky enough to freeze some strawberries before the season ended, then you’re in luck! Tara Noland is the owner and author of Noshing With The Noland and is a former nurse, now a full time blogger and stay at home mom. It’s a pleasure to share just one of the great looking cocktails that she has written. If you’re filling up on latkes tonight, you might just want something fresh and light that won’t be too intense on your palate!

Chocolate Raspberry MartiniRight after I decided I’d write a cocktail roundup, my wife was the first to say she’d participate. It didn’t take long for her to dream up the “Sufgani-tini”. Sufganiah is the Hebrew word for donut, a traditional chanukkah treat, and let me tell you, this cocktail is one hell of a treat. This cocktail tastes like chanukkah in a glass. My wife, This American Mama, is tonight’s contributor, and I invite you to follow her on Facebook.

That’s more like alchemy“. The Port of Call Cocktail does call for port, and kosher port is not easy to find. I strongly recommend Psagot Prat available from JWines. Greg Henry writes for a number of publications including Sippity Sup- Serious Fun Food and has ‘s been featured in numerous respected publications, including Food & Wine Magazine, Los Angeles Times, and Saveur’s Best of the Web. Greg also co-hosts The Table Set podcast which I now subscribe to!

We spent three or four days walking the Irish streets, visiting distilleries, breweries and quaint Irish pubs and I remember the Irish coffee I drank in the Jameson factory like it was yesterday. No Irish coffee is complete without Irish Cream but never have I thought about making this at home
